Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC) is a public medical college in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Medical colleges are producing quality physicians, renowned researchers and health policy makers who are currently working in various medical fields at home and abroad. These include Mitford Hospital, the oldest hospital in the country and the oldest hospital in the subcontinent from which the evolution of medical education began. Mitford Hospital was founded in 1857.

The school was transformed into a medical college in 1962. To acknowledge the contribution of the Nawab, the college was named after Nawab Sir Salimullah (1871-1915). Until 1957, the college was offering LMF degree. Condensed courses for MBBS degree were offered between 1963-1972. In 1972, it was upgraded to a full-fledged medical college, and in 1973, the first batch of students were admitted for the MBBS degree. The Civil Surgeon of Dhaka was in charge of both the college and the hospital till 1974, when the principal and superintendent were appointed. For institutions. In 1984, the superintendent was made the director of the hospital.

• They should follow the following eligibility criteria to get admission in Sir Salimullah Medical College University for MBBS:
• The student seeking medical college admission should have completed 17 years of age by the 31st of July of the ongoing admission year.
