The Zhejiang Chinese Medical University is a medical university based in Hangzhou city, capital of Zhejiang province, China.
It is a public university which was established in 1953. The campus is spread in 67.5 acres of land.
The university was initially established with the name of Zhejiang Vocational School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 1959, it later developed into Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The Zhejiang Chinese Medical University began offering a master's degree from 1959 and doctor degree since 1998.
The university was permitted to recruit students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan since 1987.
The Zhejiang Chinese Medical University has seen a variety of upgradation and development. The institute saw the creation of post-doctor research station in 2006, February and with the approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education the university was finally renamed as The Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, commonly known as ZCMU.
