Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine is a non-profit public higher education institution that was first established as Guangdong Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology School in the year 1924. Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine is situated in Guangdong province of China. Guangdong Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology School were approved by the Republic of China as a tertiary educational institution. In the year 1956, with the approval of the People’s Republic of China, Guangdong Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology School became one of the earliest established institutions in China specialized in Chinese traditional medicine as Guangzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine College. Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine is directly affiliated with the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China and the State Administration of Traditional Medicine. Under the jurisdiction of Guangdong province, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine became a joint venture between the central government and the provincial government.
