Result release:
Tianjin University will announce the admission result officially on website, and post Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) to scholarship winners from July 1 to July 31.

Evaluation and Admission
TJU enrolls students based on evaluation of applicants’ academic record, language proficiency and interview performance. The admission committee of the applicable department/school will review the application documents and select applicants for further interview. Interview date will be announced afterwards, please pay attention to the mailbox for the announcement. The final admission decision will be made after the interview.
Before the final admission result is released, applicants may check their admission status via the TJU online Application System. TJU will issue Admission notice and Visa documents to those admitted.

In 1895, Sheng Xuanhuai submitted his memorial to the Guangxu Emperor to request for approval to set up a modern higher education institution in Tianjin. After approval on October 2, 1895, Peiyang Western Study College was founded by him and American educator Charles Daniel Tenney and later developed to Peiyang University.
It was the first university providing four year degree modern higher education in China. The university modeled itself on the famous American Universities and aimed to rejuvenate China by training qualified personnel with new scientific and technological knowledge. After the PR China's foundation and university restructures, Peiyang University was renamed Tianjin University in 1951.

The living cost here is reasonable, for example, around 150 USD for your food cost per month. There are 6 canteens around the dormitories on campus of Tianjin University. The cuisine in the Liuyuanp Restaurant, located near the International Student Dormitory, is ideal for international students.
If there is no direct flight to Tianjin, the recommended route is to fly to Beijing and take taxi or the direct bus to Tianjin (around 2.5 hours) just inside Beijing Capital International Airport.
Tianjin University offers international students Airport Pick-up service from Tianjin Binhai International Airport or Beijing Capital International Airport to the campus. It is approximately 50 minutes from Tianjin Binhai International Airport to Tianjin University, around 2.5 hours from Beijing Capital International Airport to the university. But international students should book in advance and send detailed departure, transfer and arrival schedule to us in advance so that the university can pick up without any delay.
Students can exchange some Chinese currency in bank for shuttle/bus ticket fare and pocket money in the big international airport when they arrive in China. And students can buy telephone card from business counter in the airport to give international call and domestic call if students need.
